The coffee club, one of Australia’s most successful franchise, has been familiar to many of us. Established 24 years ago, the franchise now posses 309 outlets across Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, China, Egypt and New Caledonia. In Adelaide, there are 6 outlets. I’ve had good memories with the place when I was in high school. On a regular Friday night, while waiting for my wife in David Jones, I decided to have a quick fix before going on the everlasting shopping. LOL
The outlet is located in David Jones Adelaide City near the front escalator. With open kitchen areas and a self contained dining area, the place is popular among locals. The eatery always have a special board on the side. My experience this time was actually not good. The service was friendly and welcoming but this won’t make up the low quality dish.
As I said, the service person was very welcoming and friendly with lots of conversations and jokes. However, the dish, salt and pepper squid, was a total disaster! The dish took 35 mins to come out but I understand they were busy so I won’t argue too much about this. When I first bite on the squid, my first impression was just salty! The squid was covered full of salt and even dipping with the tartar sauce could not cover the salt. The salad was okay but again the chips were soggy already. Totally unsatisfied.
Anyway, I’ll give it another go sometime later and hopefully this time was only because the chef just had a bad day!

Totally agree with your thought! Their food quality is always changing. However, I do prefer the one in Harbourtown.
